Thank you for being able to spend Easter with my family. I'm thankful that we can hide eggs for the kids and watch them find them. For the Easter bread and the lasagna, and the nice day today.

Thank you today for Ari and Steve coming over. There is a soft couch and a leak-proof roof. This is my third or fourth night staying at Dad's. I am glad to not be alone.

I would taken the shot before I ate this upside-down cone head, but I was too excited. Thank you for this reversion to childhood.

I took this shot on Saturday. Dad loved to sit on the porch while it was raining, but he wasn't able to on this day. I was, though, and for this simple pleasure I am so thankful.

Today I'm thankful for my clean health, my ability to walk and run and jump, my presence of mind.

Today I am thankful that I was lucky enough to have had you as my father. I am thankful that you are now living in peace and no longer in pain. Thankful for the sedation holiday that let us talk to you for that brief moment, and thankful that you raised your eyebrows to let me know you were OK. Thank you for all the memories, and thank you especially for the wisdom you imparted on me during those final hours yesterday in the ICU.

I am extremely glad to be awake today.

Today the weather was warm and breezy, almost like summer. I could go outside and breathe and not cough. I took a shower tonight with hot water. I have a warm place to sleep. I saw Mia and the kids. Thank you.
